SCEGE Dean Addressed Freshmen on Orientation Day

Dean Francis Aldrine Uy addressed the new students of the School of Civil, Environmental and Geological Engineering.
In his welcome speech he told the students to:

  • Dream big, believe in yourself, don’t let those falls beliefs stop you.
  • There are no such thing as failures, they are steps towards success, so never give up.
  • Be creative and think out of the box, we call that here “diskarte”.
  • Guard your mind, body and soul.
  • When all your strength and wisdom are all exhausted, PRAY, it shall be God’s turn to move and work.
  • Learn well what will really matter in the long run.
  • Be competent and collaborative.
  • Be creative but be compassionate.
  • Remember to value yourself. We were redeemed at a great price.
  • Lastly, remember that you are now and forever a MAPUAN.
